“I crave space. It charges my batteries. It helps me breathe. Being around people can be so exhausting, because most of them love to take and barely know how to give - except for a rare few.”— Katie Kacvinsky
.) Start waking up early now, slowly pace yourself until you’re used to waking up around 6 am! I know it sounds crazy but the earlier you wake up the better!
.) Plan a schedule and get stuff done. Keep an assignment planner and do everything you have to do throughout the day, that way you can just relax at night.
.) Start going to the gym and working out first thing in the morning so you can get it over with. Whatever your excuse is, try to find a way around it.
.) Remember you don’t have to belong to a gym to be healthy. You can easily buy cheap workout equipment at Target or Walmart and just workout at home. There’s also millions of free YouTube videos out there on how to workout. I can do a workout video if you want me to!
.) Join a cycling or yoga class, something that you will look forward to going to and will enjoy. Don’t worry too much about time or money, this is something you deserve, and your health is more important than anything.
.) Remember that a clean diet is the most important thing in all of this, but just have everything in moderation. If you’re genuine eating healthy, pizza one night won’t hurt or mess up your progress. Just keep going afterwards and stick towards your healthy goals :) it’s all about balance.
.) Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. If your body and mind is telling you that something is wrong, please listen to it. Get help. Even if it requires missing a few days of work or school, your mental health is extremely important.
.) Take advantage of the fruit in season! It’s summer time so finally fruit will be fresh again for those of you that live where it’s cold in the winter. Also remember that you can always freeze your fruit up to a couple months, so never waste any if it’s about to go bad and you can’t eat it all! That way you will also have some stored for the winter
.) Protein is important. Even if you’re vegan, everyone should try to get a little more protein in their diet. There’s tons of ways to do so. Let me know if you would like me to make a video on this as well!
.) Take care of yourself. It’s important to rest and do what your body is asking you to do. If your body is telling you you need to workout, because it feels like crap, then go workout! If your body needs a break and some good pasta, then binge watch some Netflix and eat that pasta, girl.
.) Routines are important. Start giving yourself a morning and a night routine and getting into the habit of doing these things every day.
.) Stop using electronics before you go to sleep! Instead meditate, read, just do anything other than watching TV or going on your phone. It’s very bad to use electronics before bed and messes with your sleep cycle.
.) Speaking of sleep, SLEEP IS IMPORTANT. Try your best to get between 7-9 hours of sleep every night. I know it’s hard for some people but sleeping less than this will catch up with you eventually, and oversleeping isn’t good either. Oversleeping leads to feeling bad about yourself, feeling depressed, etc…but if you’re sleeping a good amount it’s not only good for your body but it’s healthy, you’ll be able to function a lot better, you’ll feel less tired, and even oversleeping can make you feel more tired. Also, make your bed first thing in the morning.. That way you won’t feel obligated to get back into it! Never study or do work on your bed. Your bed if for sleep and sex, and that’s it.
.) Don’t be scared to workout on your own. Be confident. Everyone had to start somewhere.
.) Confidence is key. Fake it until you make it.
.) Meal prepping is everything! If you don’t have time to eat healthy every day this is a perfect option. Whatever day you have a couple hours to yourself, start meal prepping for the week and you’ll thank yourself later! Trust me! It has saved me so much time.
.) Try not to get too caught up in diets and calorie counting. Although this is important, it might end up leading to you feeling like it’s too much work and might give up on it easier. Just eat genuinely healthy, workout, don’t eat too much or too little, and everything will fall into place.
.) Stay hydrated! And not with alcohol or sugary drinks. I highly recommend not drinking anything besides water. Cutting out all other drinks can really help with health and save your body from all those unnecessary calories and terrible ingredients that sodas are filled with.
.) Don’t think too much about everything. Just stay organized and plan things out, and that will help you stay on track a lot better.
.) Life is way too short not to enjoy your summer and you can accomplish anything you put your mind to 😊🌵🌻🍉🍌Thank you for reading this post and I’m here to answer any questions and help in anyway that I can!
